Show advanced options(s)

The Show advanced options slider is turned "Off" by default. Turning it "On" enables advanced features -- Select portion and Use custom area -- in Mapping settings.

Note: Turning Show advanced options "On" is recommended for experienced Wacom device users.

Map your device in Pen mode

Pen mode is the default mode and the recommended setting for your device. In Pen mode, you use the pen like a regular pen, and you interact with the device as if it is your paper. Each point on the device maps absolutely to a specific point on your monitor, and the cursor jumps to the corresponding point on your monitor when you place your pen on the device.

Note: "Pen mode" is required for mapping your device to your display(s).
  1. Open Wacom Center.
  2. Select your device in the Devices sidebar.
  3. Select Mapping and then click Advanced.
  4. Under Mode, select "Pen".

Map your device in Mouse mode

In Mouse mode, you use the pen like a mouse. The cursor stays on the point that you left it when you pick up your pen, and you interact with your device like you interact with a mousepad or trackpad.

Important: Mouse mode is an advanced feature. Wacom recommends using your device in Pen mode, which is the default setting.
  1. Open Wacom Center.
  2. Select your device in the Devices sidebar.
  3. Select Mapping and then click Advanced.
  4. In the Mode section, select "Mouse".
  5. You can optionally change the mouse settings:
    • Mouse Height: Move the slider to adjust how high you have to lift up off the device in order to continue moving the cursor across the screen.
    • Mouse Acceleration: Move the slider to adjust how far the screen cursor moves based on how quickly you are moving across the device.
    • Mouse Speed: Move the slider to adjust how far the screen cursor moves as you move across the device.
Tip: The best way to decide how to adjust Mouse Height, Mouse Acceleration, and Mouse Speed is to move the sliders and test how they affect your screen cursor movement. Mouse Acceleration and Mouse Speed affect each other, so be sure to move them both to see how they work together.
Warning: When you make changes to these settings, you are not changing corresponding settings in your computer's system settings. However, if you make changes to mouse settings in your computer's system settings, those changes may affect how your mouse works in Mouse mode.
